Ajman Visa 2026: Cost, Status Check & How to Apply

Quick answer: You do not need a separate visa just for Ajman. A UAE tourist or visit visa is issued for the whole country, so it covers Ajman along with Dubai, Sharjah and the other emirates. With Buy Travel Visa, tourist visas start from AED 550 and standard processing takes 2–4 days. To check your Ajman visa status, use your passport number on ICP Smart Services or on our visa status page. Some nationalities do not need a visa in advance, so check your passport first.

Ajman Visa at a Glance

  • Separate Ajman visa needed? No. A UAE visa is valid across all emirates.

  • Tourist visa options: 30 or 60 days, single or multiple entry.

  • Ajman visit visa fees: Tourist visas start from AED 550.

  • Processing: Standard takes 2–4 days. Express is faster.

  • Status check: Passport number or application number.

  • Fine check: Done on the same government portals, using your passport details.

  • Main documents: Passport valid for at least 6 months, passport-size photo and travel details.

Do You Need a Separate Visa for Ajman?

No. There is no stand-alone Ajman tourist visa that you have to buy before visiting. The UAE visit visa is a federal permit, so once you hold a valid one you can travel between emirates, including Ajman, for the length of your stay.

What changes by emirate is the office that issues the visa and the portal used to track it. Visas issued through Ajman and the other emirates outside Dubai are tracked on ICP Smart Services. Visas issued through a Dubai sponsor are tracked on GDRFA Dubai. Both are UAE tourist visas and both let you visit Ajman.

Citizens of some countries get a visa on arrival or enter visa-free, and the list is set by the UAE authorities and can change. If your passport is not on it, apply before you fly.

What affects the price?

Three things set your final cost: the length of stay, whether the visa is single or multiple entry, and how quickly you need it. Express processing costs more than standard. Choosing multiple entry only makes sense if you plan to leave and return, for example to visit Oman or fly out and back in.

Ajman Visa Requirements and Documents

The requirements are the same as for any UAE tourist visa. Have these ready before you apply:

  • Passport: valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry, with a clear colour scan of the photo page.

  • Passport-size photo: recent, plain white background, face clearly visible.

  • Travel details: your arrival date and, where requested, a return or onward ticket and your accommodation.

  • Extra documents for some nationalities: we will tell you during the application if anything more is needed.

A blurry scan or a name that does not match your passport is the most common reason for delays. The full checklist is in our Dubai visa requirements guide, which applies to Ajman too.

Ajman Visa Process: How to Apply Online

The whole Ajman visa process is online. You do not need to visit an embassy or a travel office.

  1. Choose your visa. Open the Apply Visa page and pick the length and entry type.

  2. Enter your details. Fill in your name, passport number and travel dates exactly as they appear on your passport.

  3. Upload your documents. Add your passport scan and photo.

  4. Pay securely online. Choose express processing if you need the visa urgently.

  5. Receive your visa. The approved visa is sent to you digitally. Keep a printed or saved copy for your journey.

How long does an Ajman visa take?

Standard processing takes about 2–4 days. Weekends, public holidays, incomplete documents and busy travel periods can add time. If you are short on time, use our express visa service.

Ajman Visa Status Check by Passport Number

You can check your visa status online with your passport number or application number. Where you check depends on where the visa was issued:

Our visa status page

A tourist visa application normally moves through these stages: received, under process, then issued or rejected. Once it shows as issued, download the visa and check that your name, passport number and validity dates match your passport. If the status does not change after the usual processing time, message us on WhatsApp with your passport number.

Ajman Visa Fine Check: How to Check for Overstay Fines

If you stay in the UAE after your visa expires, a fine is charged for each extra day. You can check for fines on the ICP Smart Services or GDRFA portal, depending on where the visa was issued, using your passport details. Any fine can then be paid online. Our guide to the UAE visa overstay fine explains how to check and pay.

The best way to avoid a fine is to extend before your visa ends. Tourist visas can usually be extended, and the options and fees are covered in our UAE tourist visa extension guide.

Ajman Visa Medical Centre and Free Zone Visas

Some people searching for "Ajman visa" are not tourists. Two common cases are worth separating:

  • Ajman visa medical centre: a medical fitness test is part of residence visa applications, for example employment or family sponsorship. It is not required for a tourist visa.

  • Ajman free zone visa: a residence visa linked to a company licence in an Ajman free zone. It is for business owners and employees, not for holidays.

A tourist visa does not allow you to work. If you plan to live or run a business in Ajman, you need the right residence visa through the relevant authority or free zone.

Getting to Ajman

  • By air: Ajman has no commercial airport. The nearest are Sharjah International Airport and Dubai International Airport, both within roughly an hour by road depending on traffic.

  • From Dubai or Sharjah: Ajman sits right next to Sharjah, so the drive is short and many visitors stay in Ajman and travel to Dubai for the day.

Things to Do in Ajman on a Tourist Visa

  • Ajman Museum: housed in an old fort, with exhibits on the emirate's history.

  • Ajman Corniche: a long beachfront walk with cafes and views of the Gulf.

  • Al Zorah Nature Reserve: mangroves and birdlife, good for kayaking and nature walks.

  • Ajman Marina: waterfront dining and a relaxed place to spend an evening.

  • Dhow yards: workshops where traditional wooden boats are still built.
